US Bank honors three employees with awards

U.S. Bank has awarded its annual Pinnacle award to Jackie Ness, business banking relationship manager at the downtown Fargo branch, and to Linda Hopkins, branch manager in Wahpeton, N.D.

Karen Eichhorn, a universal banker at the branch office in Wahpeton, received the Top Performer award in the southeast North Dakota market.

AAF-ND presents Addy awards for 2012

The American Advertising Federation of North Dakota has presented Gold and Silver Addy awards for 2012.

The Best in Show award went to Thuen Studios for a photography campaign for Peterson Farm Seeds.

The Best in Show student award went to Mark Hoechst of Bismarck State College for his entry 1873 Colt Pocket Pistol.

Judges Choice award winners included: On Q Multimedia, Your Story self-promotion video; Sundog and John Borge, photography for the Simplot website; and Jeff Knight, Dr. Bops Flaxseed Crackers packaging.

Bill Hall was the recipient of this years Silver Medal award. The award recognizes lifelong achievement in the regions advertising, marketing and communication industries.

Other award winners included: Absolute Marketing Group, three gold, two silver; Ad Monkeys, two gold; Agency MABU, two silver; American Advertising Federation of North Dakota, two gold; Careful Productions, one gold, one silver; Flint Communications, nine gold, 14 silver; H2M, one gold, three silver; Image Printing, one gold, two silver; Jeff Knight, two gold, two silver.

Media Productions, one gold, two silver; Minnesota State University Moorhead, one silver; North Dakota State University, five gold, five silver; NDSU Distance and Continuing Education, four gold, three silver; Odney, four gold, 13 silver; On Q Multimedia, one gold; The Promersberger Co., five silver; Spotlight Media Inc., three gold, two silver; Sundog, six gold, 11 silver; The Collective, two silver; Thuen Studios, two gold, two silver; Video Arts Studios, three silver; and WDAY, one gold.

Dakota Heritage Bank appoints two to board

Dawn Flaten and Roy Musland have been appointed to the board of directors of Dakota Heritage Bank of North Dakota.

Flaten is vice president-compliance officer for the bank at the branch in Hope. She has worked in the financial industry for more than 20 years and has been with Dakota Heritage Bank for 18 years.

Musland is president of the Gackle branch. He has worked in the financial industry for 30 years.

Midcontinent Cable VP earns award for service

Tom Simmons, senior vice president of public policy for Midcontinent Communications, Sioux Falls, S.D., was named recipient of the 2013 Distinguished Service Award from the North Central Cable Television Association. He received the award at the North Central Cable Show, a regional gathering of cable television companies and suppliers serving the Upper Midwest.

Simmons has been with Midcontinent since 1987 and was cited for his work on behalf of the industry in corporate and community affairs.

American Family names Berg agent of month

Brent Berg, Moorhead, has been named District 67 Agent of the Month.

He received the honor for outstanding sales of American Family insurance products in February.

Stokka appointed to fill vacated NDCHF seat

Dr. Gerald Stokka, a veterinarian from Cooperstown, N.D., has been appointed to the board of directors for the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame, filling the seat vacated by Willard Schnell, Dickinson.

Stokka serves as associate professor of livestock stewardship with North Dakota State Universitys animal science faculty. He previously was part of the Pfizer Animal Health Veterinary Technical Services and also operated the Cooperstown Veterinary Clinic.

He received a bachelors degree in animal science from NDSU and earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Iowa State University.

Bierdeman receives RiverSource award

Mark R. Bierdeman, a financial adviser with Ameriprise Financial, Fargo, has received the 2012 Protect Grow Give award from RiverSource Life Insurance Co.

The award recognizes Ameriprise financial advisers who have reached benchmarks for helping clients protect income, grow assets and leave a legacy by implementing RiverSource life and disability income insurance policies.
