Roundtable explores Affordable Care Act’s impact on business
That was one of the messages Andy Peterson, president and CEO of the Greater North Dakota Chamber, shared this morning during a business roundtable in Fargo that explored the possible ramifications of the PPAC on employers and employees.
Calling the Affordable Care Act anything but affordable, Peterson told a group of about two dozen people gathered at the Ramada Plaza Suites that he doesn’t like the law.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea,” he said.
Judd Wagner, vice president of marketing and chief marketing officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota, said foot traffic at Blue Cross offices has doubled because of questions people have regarding how the law may affect them.
But providing answers can be difficult, he said.
The law is so complex and full of “hidden things” that what is considered true one day may not be true the next, according to Wagner, who added that when it comes to the Affordable Care Act, “There’s not a single expert in the country.”
