Thursday Review: Popper makes movie night treat without hassle
My mom would pull out her stainless pots and pans, whip up a few batches, and we’d fill Tupperware bowls for each of us to nosh from while Maria made play clothes out of curtains.
To this day, I’m still skipping “real” meals for a movie and popcorn, but I admit I’m much lazier than my mom. I don’t want to make it the old-fashioned way, and I definitely don’t want to do the dishes afterward (just ask my husband).
So Nordicware’s microwave popcorn popper has taken on a starring role in my Sunday routine.
The plastic bowl with lid is microwave and dishwasher safe, so you can make delicious homemade popcorn without the mess.
Simply pour 1/3 cup of popcorn kernels, along with a tablespoon of oil and a sprinkling of salt in the bowl, cover, and microwave for three minutes or less.
You can eat it right out of the bowl, so there are fewer dishes to wash up afterward.
My mom gave me my Nordicware popper as a gift (she knows me well), but they are available at Target and other online retailers for about $15.
Bottom line: Popcorn on movie night has never been easier or quicker to clean up.
