Police make arrest in alleged Davies High School assault

FARGO – Police here have arrested an 18-year-old male student in connection with an assault on a 16-year-old female student Tuesday at Davies High School in south Fargo.

Borris Steven Dahn of Fargo was arrested on suspicion of felonious restraint, simple assault, sexual assault and disorderly conduct in connection with the attack Tuesday.

Lt. Joel Vettel has said a verbal altercation between the two students turned physical, with the young man pushing the girl to the ground.

In the struggle, the girl received abrasions to her face and hands and bruising to her back. The girl’s shirt was ripped open, and the boy allegedly grabbed her breasts, Vettel said.

Felonious restraint is a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison. The level of sexual assault police say Dahn is suspected of is a Class A misdemeanor carrying up to a year in jail. Disorderly conduct and simple assault are Class B misdemeanors punishable by up to 30 days in jail.
