Weekend watch: ‘Bus Stop’ and ‘The Fox on the Fairway’Today – Sunday
A classic and a newcomer take the stages in Fargo and West Fargo this weekend. Tin Roof Theatre Company tackles William Inge’s 1955 drama “Bus Stop” at The Stage at Island Park, 333 4th St. S., Fargo. When a bus is forced to take shelter during a winter storm, a blizzard isn’t the only thing brewing. Lives intersect and love (or lust) affairs bloom in a small, rural Kansas diner. The tension starts at 7:30 tonight through Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday. Tickets range from $8 to $15. (701) 235-6778
At Dawson Hall at Bonanzaville, 1315 Main Ave., West Fargo, the Harwood Prairie Playhouse takes a swing at “The Fox on the Fairway.” The farce follows a golf bet between rival country clubs as the star swinger tries to keep it all together amid flirtations, relationship woes and other distractions. Tee time is 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday and the next two weeks. Tickets are $12. (701) 298-6807.
