Air Force major to speak at luncheonFARGO – The Northern Lights Council of Boy Scouts of America’s annual leadership luncheon is set for noon March 20 at the Fargo Air Museum, 1609 19th Ave. N.
The keynote speaker will be Maj. James Cusic III, who has served for more than 22 years in the Air Force and has traveled the world and taken part in countless training and real-world missions.
Cusic was in his Pentagon office Sept. 11, 2001, when American Airlines Flight 77 hit the building. He is credited with saving the lives of three people and supporting two others until they could be evacuated.
The awards he has received for his heroic actions include the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Certificate of Merit from the American Red Cross and the Boy Scouts of America Honor Medal with Crossed Palms, which has only been awarded 277 times since 1938.
