Storm cancels school in scores of Minn. districts

MINNEAPOLIS — A slow-moving snowstorm has moved on after dumping up to 10 inches of snow on parts of Minnesota, canceling school for tens of thousands of students and making travel difficult.

The National Weather Service says Lakeville in the southern Twin Cities reports 10 inches of snow for the two-day storm. Red Wing received 9.4 inches, Mankato and St. Peter 9 inches each and St. Cloud 8 inches.

Minneapolis received 9 inches, as recorded at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

The State Patrol handled 215 crashes statewide, none of them serious.

About 80 flights were canceled Tuesday at the Twin Cities airport.
