Tuesday Tip: How to remove wax from carpet

It seems where there’s carpet, there will be spills.

And one of the most difficult spills to remove from clothing, carpet or any fabric surface seems to be candle wax.

We’ve heard of tips like using ice cubes to harden the wax before scraping it away, but that proved messy and ineffective for a friend of mine who recently had a run-in with a candle and her carpet.

What did work for her was a paper towel and a clothing iron.

1. Set an iron on the lowest setting and place a paper towel between the wax and iron.

2. Dab the iron on the paper towel. It will take a while, but eventually you’ll see the wax start to come up.

3. Continue across the affected area, changing out the paper towel when needed.

Eventually all the wax will all be up, and you won’t believe your eyes, according to my friend.
