Letter: Mango’s a great addition to FargoThe recent Forum review of Mango’s restaurant has me very shocked and confused. Eric Daeuber was correct when he stated critics of critics can be harsh. In this instance, it is well-deserved criticism.
The article was hard to follow, and left me wondering if he had maybe sipped one too many mango margaritas while penning this piece. I often go to Mango’s with co-workers, friends and family. It is obviously a family-owned and operated restaurant where they care about the customer’s experience. The service has always been prompt and friendly. The food is hot, quick and very flavorful. The chicken is some of the best I have ever tasted, and it is definitely the best chicken I’ve ever had at a Mexican restaurant.
I agree with Daeuber that the prices are a wonderful deal. Mango’s offers great everyday menu prices to start with, but their daily specials are out of this world, making it cheaper to eat a meal there than at McDonald’s.
I am not quite sure why the décor and history of the restaurant should have such a high profile in the article. Mango’s has comfortable booths and a nice variety of tables. Overall, I’d say Mango’s is a wonderful addition to the food community in Fargo.
