Letter: Milk vote shows skewed priorities

After having read a few letters in The Forum (Doyle Heden, Buxton, N.D., and Cathy Budzielek, Fargo), let me see if I understand this correctly.

We had all kinds of money to fight the University of North Dakota nickname. Then we seem to be able to find money to push for a new governor’s residence, which is fine; I don’t have a problem with that. And then we are working on ways to come up with property tax reduction, which is also fine, and I don’t have a problem with that either.

However, for a state that is so flush with cash, we can’t come up with a half a pint of milk a day for kids in school? I certainly hope our legislators are not thinking about giving themselves a daily pay raise and increasing their housing allowance! If this is the case, and you are an incumbent seeking re-election, don’t come knocking on my door.
