Letter: It’s the drivers, not ice on roads

Note to all reporters and law enforcement officials: An icy road is an inanimate object and is not capable of causing a crash.

I realize it may be insensitive and therefore not politically correct to say so because someone’s feelings may get hurt, but a person driving too fast for the existing conditions is the cause of whatever crash happens on an icy road. The same thing applies when the visibility is zero or the snow on the road is 4 feet deep and someone drives into it and gets stuck.

Humans cause these events involving vehicles; the weather does not.
