VIDEO: Two treated following Moorhead apartment fire
The fire started in a third-floor apartment, and did not spread to other units. It was extinguished in about 10 minutes, said Greg Doeden, Moorhead assistant fire chief.
Firefighters were on scene for a few more hours because smoke had spread throughout the apartment building at 100 3rd St. N.
There was heavy smoke damage in the unit the fire started in and in the third-floor hallway, Doeden said. There was less significant smoke damage in the building’s other hallways, he said.
There were no major injuries. One person was taken by F-M Ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation, Doeden said, and one other person sought medical attention on their own.
Several residents were temporarily displaced from their apartments while firefighters worked in the building, Doeden said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
