Man dies after reportedly falling into Superior elevator shaftSUPERIOR, Wis. - Police here are investigating the details surrounding the death of a 65-year-old man Thursday after a fall down an elevator shaft in a warehouse on North First Street.
Police were called to the emergency room at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Hospital-Superior at 10:40 p.m. after Douglas Glen Moen died. He had been brought in by two men who said they were with him moving furniture in the warehouse on the 1500 block of North First. It was dark, and Moen was said to have gone searching for a light switch when he fell more than 8 feet down an elevator shaft.
Moen refused an ambulance call when the two men came to his aid so they drove him to the hospital, police were told.
