Style Profile: Moorhead high-schooler plays with color

FARGO - The weather hasn’t transitioned to spring yet, but Annise Montplaisir’s wardrobe is already cheery and colorful.

Montplaisir doesn’t shy away from color, and she adores boots, likely because she’s a young equestrian.

She shared with me that one of her horses, Cyclone Larry, was one of five horses that played Secretariat in the 2010 Disney film of the same name.

I spotted the 17-year-old Moorhead High student at The Forum, where she was attending a meeting for student council.

Describe your style. Eclectic and casual. I’ve never really had one particular style. I mix and match, and I love wearing color.

What are you wearing? The sweater is from my mom’s closet, my tank top and pants are from Walmart, necklace from Scheels, and I ordered these boots online.

Where do you get style inspiration? Magazines like Glamour, Teen Vogue and Seventeen.

Which celeb’s style do you covet? Selena Gomez’s – she keeps it casual and put together.

What’s your style philosophy? You need to be comfortable in your clothes so you emit confidence.

Your riding outfit for competitions is pretty chic. Can you explain what you wear? We wear riding britches, a polo and black riding boots.

I saw that Taylor Swift wore faux riding britches, so maybe they’re becoming fashionable. I’ll have to give it a try.
