Moorhead scholarship phonathon slatedMOORHEAD – The Moorhead Area Education Foundation will hold its 22nd annual phonathon from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
Students are hoping to raise $25,000 for scholarships from this year’s MAEF Phonathon, which will be based in the high school commons.
Last year, Moorhead High School students gathered 585 pledges totaling $20,270.
Funds raised in 2012 allowed MAEF to award $92,200 to 65 graduates. Since the first scholarships were given in 1991, $1,128,050 has been awarded to 1,389 graduates of Moorhead High.
The phonathon is the major fundraiser for the foundation. Other funds come from businesses, service clubs and individual contributions, plus interest from the MAEF Endowment Fund.
