NDSU to host Women’s Week eventsFARGO – This year’s observance of Women’s Week at North Dakota State University, Monday through Friday, will recognize the 40th anniversary of Title IX legislation.
Some of the events will include a leadership networking reception for women on campus; a presentation by Amy Ruley, associate athletic director for development, and Lynn Dorn, women’s athletic director, discussing the past 40 years in women’s athletics; and a FORWARD After 5 presentation where presenters will talk about the NDSU climate for women after five years of the FORWARD grant.
Shannon Galpin, founder of the nonprofit, Mountain2Mountain, is also slated to present “The Perceptions of Victimhood and the Power of Voice,” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Beckwith Recital Hall.
Since 2006, Galpin, a Bismarck native, has worked on behalf of women and children in conflict zones. She was named a 2013 National Geographic Adventurer of the Year.
