Letter: Charge stiff tariffs to protect American jobs

Our manufacturers are having their products made overseas in order to take advantage of the cheap labor. This is creating an unemployment problem in the United States.

Why don’t we charge a stiff tariff on these items made overseas as they come into the country? This would either put more money into the government coffers or result in our manufacturers hiring the labor done here, thus helping the unemployment problem.
