Judy Green has been named the regional chief executive officer for the American Red Cross. The region serves North Dakota, South Dakota and 10 counties in western Minnesota.
She has been the interim CEO since November and fills the role vacated by Randy Johnson.
Green was previously executive director of the YWCA and president of United Way in Cass and Clay counties. Most recently, she was vice president of corporate communications for Sanford Health.
Merkens joins Midwest Bank as loan officer
Dionne Merkens has joined the staff of Midwest Bank in Barnesville, Minn., as a loan officer.
Merkens has a bachelors degree from Concordia College and has more than 10 years of banking experience. She was previously employed at Frandsen Bank and Trust, Ada, Minn.
Dietz named president of Preference Personnel
David Dietz has been named president and chief executive officer of Preference Personnel, Fargo.
Dietz has a bachelors degree in accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
His parents, Larry and Candice Dietz, founded Preference Personnel in 1987 and are still active in the business.
Elliot Kirschmann hired as electronics engineer
Elliot Kirschmann has joined Appareo Systems in Fargo as an electronics design engineer.
Kirschmann, a native of Regent, N.D., graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelors degree in electrical engineering. He has been with Appareo while pursuing his degree.
Kienenberger promoted to projects manager
Amber Kienenberger has been promoted to manager of communications projects at Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota in Fargo.
She joined BCBSND in 2005 as a graphic artist in communications. She was promoted to graphic artist/project leader in 2008 and in 2011 she was promoted to project supervisor and proposal coordinator.
She was born in Winona, Minn., and grew up in Fargo. Kienenberger earned a bachelors degree in graphic communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
HBA FM hires Wenaas as office coordinator
The Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead has hired Mariah Wenaas as communications and office coordinator.
She is originally from Devils Lake, N.D., and graduated from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, with a bachelors degree in graphic design technology.
Research scientist joins NDSU technology center
Khang Hoang has joined the North Dakota State University Center for Computationally Assisted Science and Technology as a research scientist.
At center, Hoangs research includes computational studies of materials for rechargeable alkali-ion battery electrodes and solid electrolytes, hydrogen storage, thermoelectrics and photovoltaics.
Applications of his research include electrical energy storage for hybrid and electric vehicles, storing hydrogen for use in vehicles, directly converting waste heat into electricity, and direct solar-to-electric energy conversion.
Hoang received a doctorate in theoretical condensed-matter physics from Michigan State University. He served as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California-Santa Barbara and was later contracted as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Center for Computational Materials Science of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory through George Mason University.
Walsh named VP of clinical excellence
Jacquelyn Walsh has joined Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota as vice president of clinical excellence and quality in health network innovation.
As BCBSND prepares for the health insurance exchanges, policy changes and accreditation as part of health care reform, Walsh will oversee accreditation, compliance, regulatory management, case and utilization and quality management.
She previously worked as administrative director of clinical support and surgical services divisions at Altru Health System, Grand Forks.
Walsh grew up in Osakis, Minn., and graduated from St. Cloud (Minn.) Hospital School of Nursing and is a registered nurse.
Applied Engineering hires design engineer
Jamison Huber has joined Applied Engineering as a design engineer. Huber will provide engineering services in the Fargo area.
He is a graduate of North Dakota State University where he earned a bachelors degree and a masters degree in mechanical engineering.
Deere Employees Credit Union hires Schwarz
Deere Employees Credit Union has hired Josh Schwarz as business development manager in the Fargo area.
Schwarz was previously a loan officer and credit analyst and has more than eight years of experience in the banking industry.
He earned a bachelors degree from Northern State University, Aberdeen, S.D. Schwarz will serve employee members at the Deere Employees Credit Union located inside John Deere Electronics Solutions, Fargo.
Podiatrist, pathologist join Essentia Health
Dr. Jill Kang, a podiatrist, has joined the Essentia Health Clinic, Jamestown, N.D., and Dr. Elena Rodgers-Rieger has joined the pathology department at Essentia Health, Fargo.
Kang earned a podiatric medicine degree from Des Moines (Iowa) Universitys College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. She served a residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, Detroit.
Rodgers-Rieger most recently worked for Sanford Health. She earned a medical degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Grand Forks. She served a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and a fellowship in surgical pathology at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis.
John Deere Electronic Solutions hires three
John Deere Electronic Solutions, Fargo, has hired Barret Wood as a senior in-circuit engineer, Amiira Elmi as a second-shift equipment room operator and Brandon Hettwer as a production specialist.
Wood has a bachelors degree in electronics engineering from University of the Pacific, Stockton, Calif.
Discovery Benefits names sales director
Discovery Benefits, Fargo, has named Nick Lakoduk as the sales director in the western U.S.
Before joining Discovery Benefits, he worked for eight years with UCB as a senior sales specialist and national sales trainer.
Lakoduk graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in marketing.
TMI Hospitality in Fargo hires Mary Jane Foley
Fargo-based TMI Hospitality has hired Mary Jane Foley as the front desk administrative assistant.
Foley was previously a general ledger specialist with Banner Health System and also worked as a billing and collections representative at DMS Health Technologies, Fargo.
Firm adds Estep-Larson as associate attorney
The Krekelberg, Skonseng and Miller law firm has added associate attorney Sarah Estep-Larson.
She is licensed in Minnesota and North Dakota and works out of the Fergus Falls and Pelican Rapids, Minn., offices where she maintains a general practice, including family law, personal injury and civil litigation.
Estep-Larson earned a bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota Morris and graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law, Grand Forks.
Komrosky promoted to at Concorde agency
Kristin Komrosky has been promoted to underwriter in the farm and ranch division of Concorde General Agency, a Fargo insurance broker.
Komrosky had served as an assistant underwriter with commercial and farm and ranch divisions since joining Concorde in 2011.
