West Fargo Sheyenne video in Follett ChallengeWEST FARGO – Staff at Sheyenne 9th Grade Center are promoting the school’s efforts to improve critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration with a contest that features a grand prize of $60,000 in goods and services.
The school has entered a video in the Follett Challenge, which showcases programs around the nation that emphasize teaching 21st-century learning skills to prepare students for higher education and the workforce.
Six winning schools
will share in the cash equivalent of $200,000 in products and services.
The Sheyenne video is on the challenge web site, www.follettchallenge.com. Type West Fargo into the search command box, and the video link will pop up.
The school’s video highlights how the library program assists trans-disciplinary learning, which helps students learn something in one area and apply it to other disciplines.
Thirty percent of a school’s score is tied to the votes its video receives.
The public can vote once daily until March 15.
