In second episode of ‘Family Feud,’ Turnbergs advance but miss out on $20,000

ATLANTA – Name a family with Fargo ties that missed out on $20,000 but still advanced to a third-straight “Family Feud” episode on Thursday.

Survey says … the Turnbergs!

In their second episode on the classic game show, Fargo resident Michelle Turnberg and her four cousins went up against the O’Connor family from Massachusetts.

After a back-and-forth four rounds, neither family had enough points to win. The game then went to a one-on-one sudden death question: “Name something your family plans in case of a fire.”

Turnberg’s cousin, Jess Dreischmeier, buzzed in, and her answer of “escape route” sent the family to the “Fast Money” round.

Like on Tuesday’s show, Turnberg and her cousin, Jen Myers, represented the family. Myers answered the five questions first, getting 133 points out of the 200 necessary to win.

During Turnberg’s turn, her first three answers to the same questions got 41 points, but then she ran into trouble.

For the fourth question – “name an age when men start getting pot bellies” – her answer of “28” didn’t get any points at all.

The last question was “name something you clean once a week,” and Turnberg answered “kitchen.” Needing 26 points to win $20,000, she got only four.

Turnberg said Wednesday that coming so close to the money prize for a second straight day was agonizing.

“That killed me,” she said, laughing. “It was horrible. We were so close.”

Even so, the cousins still advanced to play in a third game, which was filmed on the same day last July as their first two episodes. That episode will air at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
