More snow expected today and Thursday; winds may cause blowing and driftingFARGO – Another round of snow is expected today and Thursday across eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota, with the potential for 2 to 4 inches and localized amounts of around 5 inches near heavier snow bands, the National Weather Service says.
A winter weather advisory is in effect from 9 a.m. today to 9 a.m. Thursday for most of eastern North Dakota and bordering counties in Minnesota, including Cass and Clay counties.
A cold front will drop through the region this evening, and gusty north winds from 15 to 30 mph may cause areas of blowing and drifting snow in open areas, the weather service says. Snow will develop in the Devils Lake basin this morning and spread east during the day.
