Fargo residents asked to clear fire hydrants

FARGO – Fargo residents are being asked by fire department leaders to clear snow away from fire hydrants located near or on their property.

This will ensure that in the event of a fire, responding crews can quickly locate and connect to the hydrant, according to a fire department news release.

There are approximately 6,500 hydrants in Fargo. If a fire hydrant hasn’t been cleared, firefighters could lose valuable time as crews locate and clear the hydrant in order to use it, the release stated.
