Fargo residents asked to clear snow from fire hydrantsFARGO – Fargo residents are being asked by Fire Department leaders to clear snow away from fire hydrants located near or on their property.
This will ensure that in the event of a fire, responding crews can quickly locate and connect to the hydrant, according to a Fire Department news release.
There are approximately 6,500 hydrants in Fargo. If a fire hydrant hasn’t been cleared, firefighters could lose valuable time as crews locate and clear the hydrant in order to use it, the release stated.
If you are unable to clear the snow away from a hydrant on or near your property, ask a neighbor.
