Bison softball earns split at Iowa tourney

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The North Dakota State softball team split two games Friday at the Ramada Inn UNI-Dome Classic, beating Green Bay before falling to Drake.

Maritza Lopez-Portillo batted 2-for-3 with one home run and tallied three RBIs in Game 1 to pace the Bison to a 9-1 victory over Green Bay.

Bulldogs catcher Cortney Wood drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to top the Bison 2-1.
