Style Profile: French style influences blogger’s look

FARGO - Since moving to the U.S. two and a half years ago, Gunel Huseynova has taken an interest in fashion.

Huseynova, who moved from Azerbaijan (located between Western Asia and Eastern Europe), now shares her love of fashion in her blog, Stylish Fargo.

I met up with Huseynova downtown, where she showed up in a chic black and white ensemble.

Describe your style. Feminine classic – I like to keep it simple. I wear a lot of black and white and natural colors.

What are you wearing? A White House Black Market sweater, belt from Macy’s, Hue leggings, Aerosole booties, and my handbag is Kenzo. I bought it in France.

What influences your style? I like to read InStyle magazine and go on Pinterest. I also try to read French magazines so I don’t forget the language.

I lived in France for two years, so I noticed how French women dress. It influences the simplicity in my style.

Whose style do you covet? I like Miranda Kerr’s laid-back style, and Marion Cotillard always has the best red carpet looks.

What’s your style philosophy? Wear what you feel comfortable in, and as the French say, less is really more.

Who are your favorite designers? Michael Kors, Max Azria and Armani.

What’s your favorite thing that you have in your closet right now? A white Roberto Cavalli dress that I wore for my engagement party. I love it.

You said spring is your favorite season for fashion. What are you looking forward to wearing this spring? Nautical stripes, items with lace detailing, ballet flats and light jackets.
