Felon found with guns gets 10 yearsFARGO – A convicted felon caught with guns, ammunition and silencer was sentenced in federal court here on Thursday.
Anthony Nathaniel Hayes Jr., 30, of Hankinson, was sentenced to serve nearly 10 years in prison for possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of an unregistered firearm.
U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson sentenced Hayes to 9 1/2 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Hayes was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim’s Fund.
Hayes pleaded guilty on Aug. 15 to possessing four guns and various ammunition including a stolen firearm and silencer.
According to an indictment filed, Hayes was previously convicted of third-degree assault in Anoka County, Minn., in 2006.
