Minnesota revenue official to speak at interfaith eventMOORHEAD – Minnesota Revenue Commissioner Myron Frans will speak about the state budget at an interfaith legislative advocacy event at 5:30 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 218 10th St. S.
The commissioner will outline the problems facing Minnesota’s budget landscape and the key points of Gov. Mark Dayton’s proposed budget, which includes plans for new revenue.
Brian Rusche, executive director of the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition, area faith, nonprofit and labor leaders will also present their legislative priorities for the 2013 session. They will talk about how these issues connect to the local community and the question of revenue in this budget year.
The audience will have the opportunity to ask questions, and attendees will also participate in small-group discussions and practice legislative advocacy skills.
