HCSCC To Host heritage workshopsMOORHEAD – The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County will host a series of workshops on preserving traditions while also promoting local heritage.
All classes will be held at the Hjemkomst Center here and proceeds will benefit the HCSCC.
The fee is $25 per class, which includes all materials.
• Tatting, 1 p.m., Feb. 23. A form of lace made by a series of knots, learn the basic slip-knots and loops used in most tatting patterns.
• Fraktur calligraphy, 1 p.m. March 23. Learn the fundamental techniques to writing this medieval script.
• Pysanka Egg, 10 a.m. to noon, March 30. Learn the Ukranian folk art of decorating Easter eggs using a wax-resist method and dyes.
