Devils Lake man pleads guilty to federal chargesFARGO – A Devils Lake man accused of following a man onto the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation and hitting him with a baton pleaded guilty to federal charges on Monday.
Zev Boyd Rush, 32, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Ralph R. Erickson to a misdemeanor charge of striking, beating and wounding.
On Oct. 26, 2010, Rush followed a man from Devils Lake to his home on the Spirit Lake Indian Reservation and hit the man with a black metal collapsible baton. The man suffered many wounds to his arms and leg, said a press release from the U.S. attorney’s office.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
Rush is scheduled for sentencing on April 29 in U.S. District Court in Fargo. He faces a maximum sentence of six months in prison.
