Bison picked to win Summit women’s golf titleFARGO – There will be a new champion for the first time in Summit League women’s golf history, and North Dakota State is the favorite according to a poll of the league’s nine coaches.
Oral Roberts won all 15 previous titles before moving to the Southland Conference. NDSU got 63 points and seven of the eight first-place votes in the poll.
Indiana Purdue-Indianapolis finished second with 56 points and two first-place votes followed in order by Kansas City, Oakland, Western Illinois, South Dakota State, Fort Wayne, Omaha and South Dakota.
The Bison return defending two-time individual champion and three-time Summit golfer of the year Amy Anderson, a senior from Oxbow, N.D. The Bison also have four golfers who ranked in the league’s top 20 with sophomore Sarah Storandt, freshman Hailey Boner and junior Abby Knutson.
