Letter: We need sex ed class for old menThe North Dakota State University president recently jerked the check from a major grant awarded to two faculty members to provide health and sex education to small groups of teenage women deemed at risk in our community. The chancellor of the university system backed the president’s decision based on obscure laws previously passed by our naïve legislators. These actions plus numerous weird statements last fall by male candidates for national office on women’s health lead me to this conclusion:
We desperately need to design and implement a comprehensive health and sex education program for old men in policymaking positions. Perhaps our two faculty grant writers could reapply for funding with this new goal and then all their work would not be wasted.
