Fargo sex offender wanted after failing to register

FARGO – Police here are looking for a moderate-risk sex offender who has failed to register his new address and maintain contact with law enforcement.

Gerardo Garza’s last known residence was 3529 Kelly St. N. in Fargo.

Garza was convicted of sexual assault in 2002 in Webb County, Texas. His victim was a 14-year-old acquaintance, according to a news release from police.

Garza was assessed as a moderate-risk offender by the North Dakota Sex Offender Risk Assessment Committee. He’s required to register until Aug. 30, 2027.

Anyone with information about Garza’s whereabouts is asked to contact law enforcement.

Failure to register is a Class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
