Fargo police ticket 89 during 'Click It' campaignFARGO – Police here issued 89 citations, including 10 seat-belt tickets, during a “Click It Or Ticket” campaign last week.
Officers in marked and unmarked cars worked four days – both on shift and on overtime – specifically looking for seat-belt violations, as well as speeding, red light violations and texting while driving.
In addition to the 10 seat-belt citations, officers wrote eight tickets for texting or distracted driving, 27 speeding tickets, 30 red light tickets, four citations for no insurance and one for driving under suspension. Officers also arrested one person on a local warrant, according to a news release from Lt. Joel Vettel.
Police targeted areas based on crash statistics and by known problem areas for the violations.
