Letter: Too much Bison in the newspaper

For some time now, the coverage the North Dakota State University football team has received has continued to grow out of proportion by The Forum. The latest Sunday issue (Jan. 13) is the latest example.

There were two special sections devoted to Bison football, with both sections being the first two sections of the Sunday paper. I had to dig through the inserts and other sections to find the front page. I have absolutely no problem with publishing two special sections on the great accomplishments of the NDSU football team, but both sections should have been inserted into the regular sports section, and the front section should have been where it always belongs: as the very first section.

It’s a good thing our presidential election wasn’t held on a Bison football game day, because in the following day’s edition, the football game would probably have been plastered all over the front page, and in one of the kickers on the very top (masthead) of The Forum would have been a small caption: “Obama wins re-election: see Page B1.”
