NDSU events celebrate Martin Luther King DayFARGO – North Dakota State University will host a celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day at noon Wednesday in the Arikara room at Memorial Union.
NDSU alumnus Thomas Jefferson will share his experiences and involvement with the civil rights movement. Jefferson participated in 1963’s march on Washington, which featured King’s “I Have a Dream” speech.
The Atmosphere, an African drumming ensemble, will also perform. The group is composed of musicians from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia, Nigeria, Republic of Senegal and Republic of Burundi.
