Weekend watch: All Time Low at The Venue

Bands often take inspiration from other artists. Deep Purple was named after a 1930s big-band tune, and Who drummer Keith Moon inadvertently gave Led Zeppelin its name when he joked the group would “go down like a lead balloon.”

Pop punks All Time Low took their name from New Found Glory lyrics to “Head on Collision,” which came out in 2002, the year before ATL formed – while they were still in high school. So yeah, they’re young. The group has moved on to bigger things and for much of the past decade has been out on the road playing their signature hits, “Dear Maria, Count Me in” and “Weightless.”

The group plays Sunday at The Venue at The Hub, 2525 9th Ave. S., Fargo. The show opens at 7 p.m. with Fireworks and Yellowcard. Tickets for the all-ages concert are $22 in advance, $25 the day of the show. (866) 300-8300.
