Former ND Gov. Schafer to speak today at NDSU

FARGO – Former North Dakota Gov. Ed Schafer will present “Ronald Reagan’s Values: How They Shaped North Dakota’s Economy Today” at 3:30 p.m. today in the Memorial Union Hidatsa Room at North Dakota State University.

The event is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception.

Schafer served as governor from 1992 to 2000 and was the U.S. secretary of agriculture from 2008 to 2009.

His presentation is the inaugural event in the annual Carl Pfiffner and Jerri Hall Pfiffner Endowed Lecture Series. Carl Pfiffner is a retired sales manager for the ExxonMobil Foundation, and his wife, Jerri, a 1965 graduate of NDSU, teaches at Houston Community College.
