Letter: Have the courage to do what is right with guns

When I have gone out in the fall to hunt migratory birds and pheasants none of the guns I could choose would hold more than five shells. None of my hunting friends complained about that. They even abided by the ban on having more than three shells in their gun. However, today when a deranged person decides to go out and shoot people he can freely choose a gun that holds many times that many shells. How can that be if we are still a civilized society?

Why must we continue to put our children and friends at risk of being murdered for lack of courage and determination to do what is reasonable and right?
