Letter: Yet another case of animal abuseThe recent story out of West Fargo about the abuse of two dogs that resulted in one of the dogs being euthanized due to the extreme conditions suffered prior to his or her rescue reminds us once again of the need for increased penalties for this type of abuse.
Although we can all envision our personal preference of what a penalty for this type of crime should be, it is only when our Legislature gets its act together and enacts serious penalties for this type of inhumane treatment that justice can, and hopefully will, be served.
When will we say enough is enough? When will we read of such criminals being sentenced to harsher penalties and court ordered psychological evaluation? Hopefully it will be when the next North Dakota legislative session begins.
