Area fiber spinners to gather at HjemkomstFiber enthusiasts will gather for a “Spin-In” from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Hjemkomst Center in Moorhead. The event will demonstrate the ancient craft of turning wool into yarn.
Traditionally, spinners would refrain from spinning during the holidays. After St. Distaff Day, on Jan. 6, women would begin spinning again for the household. Today, spinners celebrate this tradition by gathering.
The public event, hosted by the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County, is free, though the museum galleries require paid admission.
For more information, or to demonstrate at the Spin-In, call (218) 299-5511.
