Homeowner awakes to two masked burglars

FARGO – A homeowner here awoke Friday morning to find two masked burglars in his basement.

According to a WDAY news report, the man heard a noise just before 3 a.m. at his home on the 2800 block of Park View Drive here. When he found the two burglars, both wearing ski masks, they fled. The homeowner said he likely forgot to lock his door.

“It’s important, even though Fargo is a very safe community, that we still lock our doors at night,” said Sgt. Jason Nelson of the Fargo Police. “It’s not uncommon for drunk people to wander into homes that are unlocked, or in this case, someone with criminal intent.”

Police say they tracked the suspects using a canine unit but the trail ended. It appears the two got away in a car.

Police say it appears nothing was stolen, and no other burglaries were reported in the area. No arrests have been made.
