Man dies in machinery accident in AlexandriaALEXANDRIA, Minn. – A 50-year-old Evansville man died in work-related machinery accident at the Pope Douglas Solid Waste Management facility Thursday night.
Alexandria police officers responded to the scene in Alexandria about 9 p.m. The initial report was that a man had fallen from a ladder.
Upon arriving, officers learned that an employee, Tim Allen Anderson, had been caught in a piece of machinery and was unconscious.
Officers and North Memorial Ambulance paramedics administered first aid but Anderson died at the scene.
ND agency offering ‘active shooter’ course
BISMARCK – The North Dakota Safety Council is offering a training course to help prepare people in the case of an armed intruder.
The so-called Active Shooter Survival Training will be held Jan. 17 at Bismarck State College.
Safety Council spokeswoman Serena Schmit said numerous people called the nonprofit organization in the wake of the school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
Schmit said the class costs $49. She said early applicants include school administrators, law enforcement officials and hospital employees.
