Electrical fire destroys Wolf Lake home

WOLF LAKE, Minn. – Volunteer firefighters battled a house fire near here for five hours early Wednesday morning.

The home about six miles east of Wolf Lake received significant damage, but crews were able to save about 95 percent of the family’s belongings, said Assistant Fire Chief Andrew Keranen.

A couple and their 8-year-old child were inside at the time but fled when they smelled smoke around 1 a.m., Keranen said. No injuries were reported, and investigators determined it was an electrical fire, Keranen said.
