Early morning fire damages Grand Forks apartmentsGRAND FORKS - An early morning fire resulted in $40,000 in damage to two units in a Grand Forks apartment building Tuesday.
Firefighters were called to 824 Fourth Ave. S. shortly before 1 a.m. in response to a report of a burning ceiling fan, according to Grand Forks Fire Department officials.
When firefighters arrived, they encountered smoke and flames on the ceiling of a second story bathroom. The fire was brought under control and extinguished quickly.
All occupants were safely evacuated from the scene and no injuries were reported. Damage to the two apartments is estimated to be $40,000, according to officials.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
