Man held for assaulting Fargo police officers

FARGO – A 39-year-old man who resisted arrest for a misdemeanor punched three police officers early Sunday and now faces felony assault charges.

The arrest of Archie Hopkins of West Fargo resulted from loud party complaints at the Holiday Inn.

When Fargo police officers arrived they found perhaps 30 people partying in several rooms. Officers discovered that Hopkins had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, and he resisted arrest, according to police.

In the ensuing struggle, Hopkins hit three Fargo police officers, including one in the face, Lt. Joel Vettel told WDAY.

Hopkins is being held in the Cass County Jail.
