Wallwork sponsoring FFA scholarship

Wallwork Truck Center is sponsoring its annual Built Ford Tough Collegiate Program for the National Future Farmers of America and will award a $1,000 scholarship to a local high school student.

Eligible FFA members can submit an online scholarship application at www.ffa.org, and then bring the required signature page to the Wallwork Truck Center in Fargo, Bismarck, Williston, N.D., Minot, N.D., or Fergus Falls, Minn., for endorsement.

The deadline for the scholarship application is Feb. 15.

SunGold sunflower facility opens in Texas

SunGold Foods, a business unit of Red River Commodities, Fargo, has opened a processing plant for in-shell sunflower seeds in Lubbock, Texas.

The new facility roasts, salts and seasons confection sunflower seeds and uses technology that was developed and tested by the SunGold team at the companys North Dakota facilities.

SunGold also operates a bird food production plant in Lubbock and has existing plant operations in Horace, N.D., Fargo and Zevenbergen, The Netherlands.

Tri-State Manufacturers annual meeting Jan. 8

The Tri-State Manufacturers Association annual meeting will be Jan. 8 at the Minnewaska House, Glenwood, Minn.

TSMA represents manufacturers and related industries in west-central Minnesota and eastern North Dakota and South Dakota.

The schedule of meeting events includes a tour of DyCast Specialties in Glenwood, a custom job shop that produces prevision aluminum and zinc castings. Featured speaker at the dinner meeting is Mike Hardy, a senior investment strategist and portfolio manager.
