United Way nearing its $5.1M goalFARGO – The United Way of Cass Clay is less than $1 million away from its $5.1 million annual fundraising campaign goal.
Today’s donation of $7,500 to United Way by Bell State Bank & Trust employees brings the annual campaign’s total to $4.2 million, United Way of Cass Clay President Sheri Thomsen said.
“We’d really encourage individuals in this community thinking about making a year-end gift to really consider United Way,” Thomsen said.
The Bell State Bank & Trust donation is part of the company’s annual “Pay It Forward” program. Each employee is offered $1,000 which they can donate throughout the year to a cause or organization of their choice, said Tom Carvell, software engineer with Bell State Bank & Trust.
Carvell said he sent an email out to employees asking if they would like to contribute to the United Way and within 24 hours $7,500 was contributed.
In Bell State Bank & Trust’s five years of participating in the Pay it Forward Program, more than $3 million has been donated to local programs and charities.
The United Way campaign raised $5,010,429 last year, exceeding its goal of $5 million.
