Annual Appreciation Day Wednesday at vets home

LISBON, N.D. – Volunteers with the North Dakota National Guard will show their appreciation to the men and women in the state who served before them during the annual Veterans Appreciation Day Wednesday here at the North Dakota Veterans Home.

Guardsmen from across the state donated funds to purchase gifts for the 129 residents of the home.

This year, Tech Sgt. Tracy Zidon coordinated the effort. Master Sgt. Kathleen Shasky and Kristi Clifton, the 119th Wing’s director of psychological health, volunteered their time to purchase gifts on the veterans’ wish lists, and other volunteers wrapped gifts.
