Fargo Davies tops Grafton-Park River in boys hockeyFARGO – Grafton-Park River may have been the first team to light the lamp on Saturday, but Fargo Davies stormed right back.
The Eagles scored three unanswered goals to earn a 3-1 North Dakota East Region boys hockey victory during the Scheels Shootout at Scheels Arena.

The Spoilers’ lead lasted all of five seconds.
Davies sophomore forward Tristan Hartness scored on a breakaway after the Eagles won the faceoff.
“They have used that play a few times this year,” Davies head coach Brian Davidson said of Hartness’ goal. “I think it is twice now where they have used it after we got scored on. It seems like it gives us the momentum right back.
“I thought it fired our bench up more because he has been burying those shots when he gets on the breakaway.”
Davies sophomore defenseman Cody Haiskanen scored with 1:19 left in the first period to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.
The Spoilers were not able to answer in large part to Davies goalie Tucker Windels who finished with 32 saves for the Eagles (5-1-0, 4-1-0 East Region).
“Davies is a good team,” Grafton-Park River head coach Scott Petersen said. “They got a lot of talent and a lot confidence. Those things can do a lot for you. We made a few mistakes and they capitalized on them. … When you play a good team like Davies they are going to score on their opportunities and we did not do what we needed to do.”
It is the second straight loss for the Spoilers (6-3-0,
