Kitten returned after Bismarck pet store burglary
BISMARCK — Police in Bismarck are still working the case of a pet store break-in earlier this week, but a kitten stolen during the caper has been returned.
The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/Z6Bek7) that the unnamed orange tabby was returned to the Animal Kingdom store Friday after it was found running around a grocery store.
Store manager Kim Leingang says the kitten was the first animal stolen in a burglary, though others have been taken during store hours.
Police say windows were smashed on three other businesses in the same part of town Monday night but the pet store was the only store entered. The thief also pocketed some loose change from a till.
Surveillance video from one of the businesses showed a man carrying what appeared to be a crowbar.
